Frances Ann Humphrey, 85 of Massillon, passed away Sunday, May 17, 2015. Frances was born on May 8, 1930 in Dalton, the daughter of William and Bessie (Hill) DeGordon. Frances lived in Carrollton where she and her husband lived on a farm. She lived most of her life here in the Massillon/Dalton area. She worked at Massillon State Hospital and also was a caregiver. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Elton B. Humphrey; her brothers, Charles, Edward and Pete DeGordon. She is survived by her daughters Sharon (Donnie) Rittenhouse and Carol (David) Horst; her step-daughters; her grandchildren, Daniel (Sabrina) Rittenhouse, Amy (fiancée Sam Beal) Horst, Meghan (Justin Tenney) Horst; many step-grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and her sister-in-law, Mae DeGordon. The family would like to thank the staff at Hospitality House many whom she came to love and took excellent care of her. The family would also like to thank the staff at Harbor Light Hospice for the special care their mom received. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Pleasant View Mennonite Cemetery in North Lawrence.
