Frances A. Lanning

Frances A. Lanning, 91 of Massillon, passed away Friday, July 10, 2015. Frances was born on June 30, 1924 in Old Washington, Ohio the daughter of Charles and Sylvia (Cross) Hall. She retired from the United States Postal service in 1987 in Florida. She was a member of Belleview Christian Church. Frances enjoyed sewing, reading, cross word puzzles, upholstering, cooking, and spending time with her family. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, C. Robert "Bob" Lanning, her brother Mervin Hall and her sister Marie Hall. She is survived by her children and their families, Lona & Tom Mays, Colleen & Gary VanPelt, Rick & Jane Lanning, Tami & Doug Turner and Chuck & Kelly Lanning; 11 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren. The family would like to thank the staff at Amherst Meadows, Affinity Medical Center and Crossroads Hospice for their care and compassion. A Celebration of Frances's life will be held TODAY at 2 p.m. at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home: 1100 Wales Rd. N.E., Massillon, OH 44646. Calling hours will be held from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service. Her final resting place will be with her husband in Florida at the National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.
