Fr. Albert W. Anderson, age 87 of Massillon, passed away on Saturday, July 25, 2009 at Affinity Medical Center. He was born on April 5, 1922 in Watervliet, NY and was the son of the late Albin and Maria Fredrica (Kundel) Anderson. A former P.O.W., Fr. Anderson served his country during WW II in the U.S. Army Air Corps. After the war, Al attended Virginia Theological Seminary and was ordained in 1950. Most of his career was spent at churches in Vermont and New York. At the time of his death he served as the assistant priest at St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church in Massillon. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Alison S. Anderson. He is survived by his wife, Patricia J. Anderson of the home, his children and their spouses, Sharon & Denny Hoyt of Marblemount. WA, Mark & Debbie Anderson of Greenbush, NY and Judith & Peter Eppolito of Afton, VA, his stepdaughters and their spouses, Kim & Dave Yoder of Canton, OH, Paula & William Graef of Uniontown, OH and Amy Koch of Navarre, OH, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, his sister, Marion Stuart of Rensselaer, NY and Marie (Robert) Montgomery of Troy, NY and his brothers, Paul (Ann) Anderson of Dublin, CA and Ronnie (Anne) Anderson of Beverly Hills, FL. A service to celebrate the life of Albert Anderson will take place at 2:30 P.M. on Wednesday at St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church with Fr. Henry Harris officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30 – 2:30 P.M. at the church. Cremation will follow the service. Memorial may be made to the church’s Choir Fund.
