Floyd R. Lindsay, age 100, of Newman, went peacefully to be with his LORD on September 8, 2018, at 4:10pm surrounded by his loving family. He was born on August 14, 1918, to the late Robert and Annie Lindsay. Floyd graduated from Washington High School. He married Lois K. Sherret on July 13th 1952. He served in World War II in the Army Corp. of Engineers in Europe. He was employed with the Diebold Inc. and enjoyed many years of retirement. He was a lifelong member of Newman Baptist Church where he served as deacon a number of times through the years. Floyd enjoyed camping, construction, and spending time with family and friends, His family was most important to him. He always had to know what his nephews were up to. Floyd was very kind and loving to everyone that he met. There were no strangers to him. Floyd is preceded in death by his parents; brothers William (Wally) and Richard Lindsay; and sister Wilma Lindsay. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Lois; daughter and son-in-law Karen (Jeff) Kilgore; and many special nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews , and great-great nieces. The family would like to thank the family, friends, neighbors and Pam Skibicki for all their support. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Newman Baptist Church. A celebration of Floyd’s life will be at 11am on Thursday, September 13, 2018, in the Newman Baptist Church, 11155 Orrville St. NW, Massillon, with Pastor Dennis McDonald, Pastor Jamie Ryder, and Rev. Dale Hammond officiating. Calling hours will be held from 6-8 pm on Wednesday, September 12, 2018, in the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
