Everett E Himes

Everett E. Himes, age 93, passed away at home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 20, 1927 to the late William and Agnes (Bish) Himes in Knoxdale, Pennsylvania. He was a 1945 graduate of Massillon Washington High School. He married Rita Jordan on August 28, 1947 and they shared 66 years together until her passing in 2013. Everett proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He served as an instructor in the 8th Army Automotive Maintenance School in Fuchinobe, Japan just outside of Yokohama. Following his military service, Everett went to work for the Eaton Corporation and retired after 40 years as the Chief Mechanic. He was member of St. Barbara Catholic Church. Everett enjoyed bowling, playing cards and watching his son play music. He was the most loving, patient, hardworking man, who loved his family dearly, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was always there to lend a helping hand. He leaves to cherish his memory his children Sally (David Vince) Stang, Sandra (Randall) Kiefer and Terry (Dee Turner) Himes; his grandchildren Amy Kula – Dugan, Chad (Julie) Kula, Karey (Tom) Ross, Corey (Dana) Kiefer and Trever Himes; his great grandchildren, Emily Dugan, Ryan Dugan, Evan Dugan, C.J. Kula, Connor Kula, Lily Kula, Trinity Kula, Olivia Ross, Connor Ross, Kyle Ross, Camryn Kiefer and Caden Kiefer and 1 great - great granddaughter Aubriella Howell. In addition to his parents and wife, Everett was preceded in death by his brothers Theodore Himes and Stewart Himes; sisters Avanelle Alleshouse, and Martha Swineford and an infant daughter Joy Himes. A graveside service will be held at St. Barbara’s Catholic Cemetery at later date. Please check the website for any updates to the obituary.
