Evelyn H. (Long) Arquilla

January 14, 1924 — March 23, 2011

Evelyn (Long) Arquilla, passed away March 23, 2011 at Hennis Care Centre of Bolivar. She was born on January 14,1924, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the daughter of Otto and Hazel Long and the fourth of nine children. She graduated in 1942 from Dickson High School in Brethren, Mich., later moving to Muskegon, MI. She worked in a defense plant making coils for US ships plus doing volunteer work as a nurses aide, before moving to Arizona and then to Massillon, Ohio in 1944. There, she was a homemaker and also did volunteer work at Doctor's Hospital. She is survived by three childres, Rev. Robert L. (Marlene) Reed of Costa Rica, Roland C. Weller, his companion (Judy Durrant) of MAssillon, Tamela S. (David) Bigler of Henderson, NV. There are six grandchildren, Kristi Piatko Reed, Tiffany M. Reed, Rev Jonathan (Jessica) Reed, Lauren Bigler, Jordan Bigler, Rev. Bryan Weller (Carrie); five great grandchildren, Cole Piatko, Blake Piatko, Haley WEller, Issac Weller, and Kezia Reed. One sister, Betty (Earl) Littlefield of New Philadelphia, on borther, Gene (Ginny) Long of Morgantown, West Virgina, two step-daughters, Carol Lyndon of Massillon, and Betty Gainey of Massillon. She was preceeded in death by her parents and three husbands, Rolland C. Weller Sr, Charles D. Palmer, and Mike Arquilla. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. The family will be receiving visitors on Sunday March 27, 2011 from 4-8 p.m., at the Paquelet Funeral Home 1100 Wales Rd NE, Massillon and also one hour prior to the services at the Grace United Church of Christ,on Monday March 28, 2011 starting at 10 a.m., with the service to start at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at Brookfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Eveyln's name to Hospice of Tuscarawas County, or SENT, Inc. for Missionary Rev. Jonathan Reed.
