Eulic Smith Jr., 90, of Massillon, OH, passed away August 24, 2024 at his home.
Eulic was born in Millbrook, AL, on May 27th, 1934 to the late Eulic Smith Sr. and Callie Arrington. Eulic served his country from 1957-1963 in the Korean and Vietnam war. He was a long-time resident of Massillon and worked for Republic Steel Mill for 42 years. Eulic was always seen around town talking to all that would listen, making everyone laugh. He loved going to his favorite stores Walmart and Goodwill where he was more known as “the bird man” for always whistling as he walked around shopping.
Eulic’s life was marked by his unwavering love for his family, people he considered family and the Lord. He will be missed by all who knew him. Eulic’s legacy of kindness to everyone will continue to inspire those who were fortunate to have known him.
In addition to his parents, Eulic is preceded in death by his siblings: Mary Robinson, Leroy Smith Sr., William (Sonny) Catlin, Larry Arrington, and RC (Ruby) Arrington.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 38 years, Ruth Smith; children Corey Smith, Torrey (Megan) Smith, Anthony(Tammy) Robinson, Donrita Robinson, Edward Robinson; sisters Mary(Scott) Christian and Joann (Louis) Patterson; uncle, William Smith. Eulic will also be missed by his 16 grandchildren, his 8 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, September 6, 2024, 11AM at the Paquelet Funeral Home, 1100 Wales Rd. NE, Massillon, OH 44646, where visitation will take place for 30 minutes prior to the service, starting at 10:30AM. Pastor Leroy Smith Jr. will be officiating. Flowers or memorial cards may be sent to the family at Paquelet Funeral Home or to the family at 870 Wales Rd. NE, Massillon, OH 44646.
