Eugene A. Kracker, 88, of Massillon, passed away Friday, November 22, 2013. Eugene was born on October 11, 1925 in Massillon the son of the late Frank and Caroline (Rosche) Kracker. He was a lifelong resident of the area and a 1943 graduate of Washington High School. Following his graduation from high school he enlisted into the Army Air Corp. and served our country during the European Theater as a B-24 nose gunner. Gene worked at Republic Steel as a Superintendent retiring after 40 years of service. After retirement he and his wife Eugenie enjoyed traveling. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Willard Krocker. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Eugenie (Reiter) Kracker; his children, David Kracker, and Nancy (Jerry) Leonard; his grandchildren, Trevor (Tara) Kracker, Michael (Darcy) Leonard and Brian (Michelle) Leonard; his great-grandchildren, McKenzie, Kenan, AnnaSophia, Kelcey, Kaitlyn, and Devon; and his sister, Kathleen Davis. A Celebration of Gene's life will be held on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at 12:30 p.m. at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. Burial will follow at Sunset Hills Burial Park. In lieu of flowers donations may be to the Wounded Warriors Project. Friends may gather at the funeral home on Tuesday from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. before the service.
