Ethelmae Rowan

Ethelmae (Hershberger) Rowan, 87 of Massillon, died Saturday, May 19, 2007 at Amherst Meadows where she resided in the assisted living for the past several years. She was born on March 20, 1920 in Massillon and was the daughter of the late William & Arline (Keller) Hershberger. She was a lifelong area resident. She had been an employee at the former Ben Franklin store. Until recently, Ethelmae had been active at Grace United Church of Christ, the Massillon Women’s Club, the Massillon Senior Center, the Massillon Afternoon Garden Club and the Massillon Church Women United. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Rowan in 1990 and her brother Dean Hershberger. She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law Dale & Ruth Anne Hershberger of Cincinnati, OH, sister-in-law Norma Eileen Hershberger of San Pedro, CA, her nieces Judy Hershberger, Vickie Hershberger and Susan Guttag and her nephew Brian Hershberger. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday at 11:00 A.M. at Grace United Church of Christ with Rev. Barry Stirbens officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home on Wednesday from 6-8 P.M. and on Thursday one hour before the service at the church.
