Ethel Spells Copeland was born in Carrollton, MS on January 19, 1935 to the late Richard & Henrietta Spells.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lacey Copeland, Sr.; parents and stepmother, Geneva Spells; brothers, Slyvester Young, Sonny Spell, and James Spell; sisters, Margaret (Spell) Simpson, Mayola (Spell) Hugely, and Precious Lane; three sons, Gregory Copeland, Elliot Copeland, and Rodan Copeland; two grandsons, Matthew Copeland and Adrian Stintson.
Ethel is survived by five daughters, Lorna J. Copeland of Arizona, Arlene (Copeland) Stinson of Canton, Angela Copeland of Cleveland, Lele Copeland of Canton, Patricia (Copeland) “Smitty” Smith of Michigan; one son, Lacey (Ann) Copeland, Jr. of California; two brothers, Albert (Roses) Spells of Canton and Roosevelt Spells (Laura) of Canton, Mrs. Copeland is also survived by twenty-nine grandchildren, fifty-eight great-grandchildren, forty-nine great-great-grandchildren, two great-great-great-grandchildren.
