Esther June Berry

Esther June Berry, age 85, passed away on Friday, January 4, 2013. She was born on September 26, 1927 in Beaver Falls, PA. to the late Hubert and Pearl (Smith) Lockhart. Esther was a 1945 graduate of Washington High School. She married Willard Berry in 1946. Esther is survived by her daughters Patricia Close and Gretchan (Carl) Sekulich; her granddaughters Jenna and Julia Sekulich; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband and her son, Timothy D. Berry, who died serving with the U.S Marine Corps in Vietnam on January 11, 1967, as well as her four sisters. Esther worked as the Director of Medical Records at the Massillon State Hospital until her retirement. She was a longtime member of Grace United Church of Christ. Esther was a people person and enjoyed spending time with her family. Esther will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. A memorial service celebrating her life will be held on Monday, January 7, 2013 at the Grace United Church of Christ in Massillon at 7:00 P.M. with Pastor Barry Stirbens officiating.
