Ernie Dayhuff

Ernie Dayhuff, age 96 passed away on July 04, 2014. He was born on July 16, 1917 in Midvale, OH to the late Jesse and Grace Dayhuff. He married Virginia Rush on February 12, 1938 and they shared 46 years until her passing in 1984. He married Emily Mehl in 1987 and they were together until her passing in 2013. Ernie worked as a machinist for Tyson Roller Bearing aka SKF for 42 years until his retirement. Ernie was a creative and hardworking person, who enjoyed writing poetry, drawing caricatures and entertaining those around him with his sense of humor. He is survived by his daughter Rita Ross; his grandchildren Lisa (Mark) Najda; Victoria Marshall and Doug (Amy) Ross; 3 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Cremation has taken place and services will be private. The family would like to thank Grace Hospice & the staff at Allay Senior Care for taking care of Ernie in his final days.
