Ernest G. Jackson

Ernest G. Jackson age 67 of Massillon passed away Saturday after a year illness. Ernie was born April 16, 1944 in Wayne County, WV to Willie & Ruth Jackson. He joined the Army in 1966 and received an honorable discharge. He moved to Massillon in 1967 and married Bessie Pendolino on January 27, 1968. Ernie was a 46 year employee of Republic Steel/Union Drawn retiring in 2011. He was a member of St. Barbara's Church where he served as an usher at the 4:30 PM Mass. A member of the Tuslaw Lions Club & American Legion Post #441. His personal enjoyment was hunting and especially fishing on Lake Erie. He was preceded in death by his father Willie Jackson in 1995. Ernie is survived by his wife of 44 years Bessie Jackson; two daughters, Chantell Kirby and her fiancé Jack Jobes and Nickcole (Tim) Evans; mother Ruth Jackson; one brother and four sisters: Carrie Young, Willie Jackson Jr., Judy Cavins, Donna Adkins and Loretta Wilmoth and one grandson Daniel Kirby III. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 AM Wednesday at St. Barbara's Catholic Church, his pastor Fr. Thomas Cebula will officiate. Burial will be at Brookfield Cemetery.
