Erma Louise Marsh (nee Jordan), 84, of Massillon, Ohio, peacefully passed away and entered the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on July 28, 2024. She was born in Cuba, New York on November 8, 1939, the daughter of the late Delazon and Rosina (Locke) Jordan. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother Donald Jordan. On February 15, 1964, she was married to her husband of 60 years, Cort Marsh.
Erma was a 1957 graduate of Friendship Central School, Friendship, New York. She graduated from Philadelphia College of Bible, May 1961. She then started her nurses training at the Genesee Hospital School of Nursing in Rochester, New York and was a registered nurse for over 40 years. She worked for Genesee Hospital as an IV nurse and in Radiology. During this time, she also taught in the Radiology program at Rochester Institute of Technology and was an in-home Kidney Dialysis provider. She later worked for Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, New York where she worked in Nuclear Medicine until she retired and moved to Massillon, Ohio in 1997.
Erma is known for her love for Jesus, family and friends and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Moffitt Heights, Massillon, Ohio. While living in New York she served for years in her churches, Grace Baptist Church of Brockport and Emmanuel Baptist Church of Hamlin, teaching Sunday School and serving in other areas.
Erma is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Cort Marsh; children Scott (Julie) Marsh and Kelly (Daniel) Nelson; grandchildren, McKenzie (Jesse) Pausch, Jared Marsh, Philip Nelson, and Elizabeth Nelson; great-grandson Jonah Pausch; brothers, David (Jean) Jordan, Raymond (Marlene) Jordan, and John (Shirley) Jordan; sisters Serena (Bruce) Tougas and Linda (Robert) DeMitry, as well as many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life for Erma will be held at Calvary Baptist Church of Moffitt Heights, 11616 Sinclair St. SW. of Massillon, Ohio 44647 on August 2, 2024, with Pastor Tim Mishler and Pastor Andrew Box officiating. Calling hours are from 10:00am to 11:00am, followed by the funeral service at 11:00am. Interment will be at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Seville, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Baptist Church of Moffitt Heights.
