Eric S. Powell

Eric S. Powell, age 38, passed away January 5, 2010 in North Canton. He was born January 30, 1971 in Massillon to Lester E. & Anna M. (Clapper) Powell. Eric was a 1989 graduate of Jackson High School and entered the US Navy Seals. He was employed at GBS, then Flemming Foods, Polymer Packaging and now at YRC Worldwide Freight. Eric was a member of High Mill Church of the Resurrection, the Men’s Group of the church, and the Power House Gym. His life centered on body building competition and work until the birth of his son Nicholas. He is survived by his wife, Kelly (Bond) Powell; son, Nicholas; step daughter, Sarah Beck all of North Canton; his mother, Anna (William) Lanham of Portage Lakes; father, Lester (Jean Housos) Powell of Perry Hts.; half-brother, William D. Lanham III of Jackson Twp.; half-sister, Tracey (Chris) Shaeffer of Perry Hts.; grandparents; Elizabeth (Jim) Tombow of Dalton, and Jessie Powell of Navarre; two aunts, Sherrie Slingluff of Dalton and Judy (Gene) Border of Navarre. A Memorial Service will be held at 4:30 PM Friday January 8, 2010 at High Mill Church of the Resurrection (1920 Schneider St. N. E., Canton, OH), his pastor Chuck Schumacher will officiate.
