Emil Earl Miller

Emil Earl Miller, 90, of Massillon, passed away on February 25, 2018. He was born in Massillon, Ohio on December 28, 1927 and was the son of the late Nicholas and Veronica (Oprea) Miller. Earl was a 1947 graduate of Washington High School. He married the love of his life, Margaret Popp on February 1, 1950. They shared 67 loving years together before her passing in 2017. Earl retired from Canton Drop Forge as an electrician after 47 years of service. He was also a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Earl was a jack of all of trades and his kids knew if he couldn’t fix something then it couldn’t be fixed. He was known for always helping his neighbors and others. His greatest passion in life was being a family man and he absolutely loved his grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by his children, Emil Miller, Jr., Mary Ann (Russell) Poling, Jacqueline (Bruce) McGaughey and Jeanie (Todd) Feichter, 10 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and 3 step-great-grandchildren; sisters Mary Hampu and Millie MacCartney; and brother-in-law Connie Bancioui. In addition to his wife and parents, Earl was preceded in death by his daughter Margaret “Peggy” Minning, daughter-in-law, Suzanne Miller and siblings Nick Miller, John Miller and Virginia Bancioui. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 322 3rd St SE, Massillon, OH 44646 . Calling hours will begin at 9 a.m. at the church until the time of service. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Earl’s name to the Roger Herrick Scholarship fund or St. Vincent de Paul Society, both of St. Joseph’s Church.
