Elizabeth "Betty" J. Metzgar

Elizabeth J. "Betty" Metzgar, age 94 of Massillon, passed away on Tuesday, November 1, 2016. She was born on September 13, 1922 in New Philadelphia, Ohio and was the daughter of the late Paul James and Jessica (Moore) Renner. She was a member of St. Barbara Catholic Church. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband James Metzgar, her sons Joseph Metzgar, Jack Metzgar and James Metzgar, her son-in-law Neil Brogan and her brothers Robert Renner and Paul Renner. Betty is survived by her children, Karen (Gene ) Kulik, Alison (Roy) Fothergill, Elizabeth "Kim" (Lance Peterson) Lint and Paul "Ed" Metzgar, 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and her sister Marguerite Garrison. A Memorial Mass will take place on Friday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Barbara Catholic Church. Her cremated remains will be buried along with her husband's at Brookfield Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Barbara Capital Campaign Fund.
