Elizabeth Ann Lindsey, age 78 of Canton, passed away Wednesday morning at Altercare of Canton following an extended illness. She was born on July 5, 1928 in Massillon to the late Victor and Margaret (Kerza) Benish. Elizabeth is a 1947 graduate of Washington High School. She was a member of Oakwood Country Club, Brookside Country Club and St. Michael’s Catholic Church. She had volunteered for many years at the former Timken Mercy Medical Center. Elizabeth enjoyed golfing, flower gardening and home decorating. In addition to her parents, she is precede in death by, a grandson Mark Lindsey; brother, Joe Benish; sisters Irene Timney and Margaret Krotky. She is survived by her husband, Tom E. Lindsey with whom she celebrated 58 years of marriage on June 6, 2006; daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Kirk Schueller of North Canton; son, Tom E. Lindsey, II of Canton; sister and brother-in-law, Lucille and Blaine Byer of Massillon; grandchildren, Lindsey Larson and Joe Schueller, Chris, John and Dr. Michelle Lindsey. Mass of Christian Burial for Elizabeth will be celebrated Saturday at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Massillon with Fr. Raymond Paul Celebrant. Calling hours will be Friday evening from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. Interment will take place at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens at a later date.
