Elinor Von Wyl Seifert age 87 went home to be with the Lord on June 14, 2007. She was born on April 14, 1920 in Massillon to Peter & Ellanora Legrom. She resided in the Massillon area all of her life. She first married Theodore Von Wyl on June 30, 1941 and he died in 1966. Her second marriage was to Oliver “Junie” Seifert Jr. who died in 1976. She and Ted Von Wyl had three children, Jerrian Voohes of Massillon, Robert Von Wyl of Sherrodsville, Annette Voorhes who is now deceased. Elinor was also a step mother of four children, Jack, Jim, Jeff and Joanne Seifert. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, three nieces and many dear friends. In addition to her parents and daughter she was preceded in death by a grandson, Matthew Voorhes and a sister, M. Mildred Shoman. Elinor was a dance instructor at the Elinor Von Wyl Dance Studio which she owned and operated in Massillon for more than 30 years. Professionally, she with the Von Wyl family, performed at the Swiss Country Club for the Swiss Ambassador. Elinor was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. She retired from the dance business at the age of 59. However at the age of 65 & 66 she danced at the minstrel show at St. Barbara’s in Massillon. She was a long time member of St. Barbara Catholic Parish. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday at 10:00 A.M. at St. Barbara’s Catholic Church with Fr. Thomas Cebula officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon.
