Eleftherios Verginis

Eleftherios Verginis, 81, of Jackson Township, went home to the Lord on Monday, August 8, 2022. Eleftherios was born on September 23, 1940, in Greece, the son of the late Ioannis and Despina (Giatrou) Verginis. He loved attending his grandchildren's sporting events. He loved his Greek culture and was very proud of his heritage. Eleftherios especially enjoyed Greek dancing. He was a member of the Pan - Macedonian Society and St. George Greek Orthodox Church. He loved cooking for his grandchildren and passing out candy. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by 4 brothers and sisters. He is survived by his wife, Maria, with whom he shared 53 years of marriage; sons, Yanni (Mindy), Dimitrios (Angelina), and Theologos (Trena); grandchildren Maria K., Gabriela, Alexia, Katerina, Eleftherios, Maria E., Alexandra, Nikolaos, Evangelos, and Maria A.; and numerous family in Greece. The family will receive friends at St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Massillon on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. with a Trisagion Service at 7 p.m. and on Friday from 10-11 a.m. The funeral service will be held on Friday, August 12, 2022, at 11 a.m. at the church.
