Eleanor F. Castile, age 89 of Massillon, died Monday evening at the Laurels of Massillon. She was born on October 22, 1917 in Massillon and was the daughter of the late James & Florence (Hartman) Moore. She was a lifelong area resident. She was a 1936 graduate of Washington High School and later from the Massillon Commercial Institute She was a life member of First Baptist Church, where she was active in her faith. She served the church in various capacities through the years. She was a past secretary of the Priscilla Circle and the Gamma Nu Sunday School class, a deaconess, member of the Senior Saints and a teacher for Vacation Bible School. For 30 years. Eleanor worked at Massillon Community Hospital as a ward secretary. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Castile. She is survived by her sons and their spouses; Clyde A. and Anne Castile of Massillon and James R. and Diana Castile of Dalton, OH and her grandchildren; Jason & Kristi Castile and Elisa Castile and great grandson Aiden Castile. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday at 10:30 AM at First Baptist Church with Dr. Roger Alber officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the church from 9:00-10:30 AM Memorials may be made in her name to either the First Baptist Church or Mercy Medical Center Hospice.
