Eileen Amelia Smith

Eileen Smith, 86, passed away on Tuesday, October 2, 2012. She was born on September 30, 1926 to the late Royal and Leola (Brogan) Smith in Massillon. She was a graduate of Mount Marie (Central Catholic High School). She married Thomas J. Smith on February 1, 1946 and they spent 66 years together until his passing on September 12, 2012. Eileen devoted her life to taking care of her family, and took great joy in taking care of her grandchildren. She was known as incredible cook, baker and seamstress. Eileen was a devoted and lifelong member of St. Barbara's Catholic Church. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Eileen is survived by her children; Stephen (Annette) Smith and Monica (Mark) Coventry; her grandchildren Christina (Jeremy) Singer, Brian and Derek Coventry and her sister Patricia Rohr. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Barbara's Catholic Church on Monday, October 8, 2012 at 10 A.M., Father Thomas Cebula officiating. The family will receive friends at the Paquelet Funeral Home on Sunday, October 7, 2012 from 6 to 8 P.M. Burial will take place at Brookfield Cemetery following the church service.
