Edwin L. Tusing, Sr.

Edwin L. Tusing, Sr. (“Pop T’), 68 of Navarre, Ohio, passed away on Monday, November 8, 2010 at Affinity Medical Center. He was born on June 22, 1942 in Elkhart, Indiana and was the son of the late R. Evard and Cecil (Overleese) Tusing. He has been an area resident since 1978. He served his country during the Viet Nam Conflict. While in the U.S. Air Force his tour of duty included stations in Africa and the Philippines. Edwin retired from Buckeye Nutrition after 30 years of service, where he was a pellet mill operator. He was a member of Christ’s Community Church in Navarre. Other memberships included the Navarre Post of the V.F.W. and the N.R.A. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Sarah Stewart and his brother Ronald Tusing. He is survived by his wife Louisa M. (Linerode) Tusing of whom he recently wrote, “I will be in love with my wife forever”. They were married on April 7, 1961. He is also survived by his children and their spouses, Edwin L. (Melissa) Tusing, Jr. of Navarre, Shannon (Larry) McGarr of Perry Township and Rodney (Michele) Tusing, Sr. of Brewster, his 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, his son-in-law, Ross Stewart of Canton, his sisters, Beverly Eckstein of Florida, Partricia Wolking of Norfolk, VA and Karen Baich of Norwalk, OH and his brother Joseph Tusing of Elkhart, IN. A service to celebrate his life will take place on Saturday at 12:00 Noon at Christ’s Community Church with Pastor Mark Self and his brother-in-law, Rev. John Baich officiating. Burial will follow at Union Lawn Cemetery in Navarre. The family will receive friends at the Paquelet Funeral Home on Friday from 5-8 P.M. and on Saturday at the church one hour before the service.
