Edward W. “Wayne” Jackson. aka Action Jackson, age 55 of Canton, died Sunday afternoon at Mercy Medical Center. He was born on September 23, 1950 in Massillon to the late Raymond Lee and Clara Irene (Allen) Jackson. He was a lifelong area resident. He was a 1970 graduate of Washington High School and had been employed at LTV Steel. He was an avid bowler who belonged to the ABC and was a member of the Massillon Elks #632. He had attended New Horizons Missionary Baptist Church. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Shirley Ann Jackson and grandparents, J.C. & Clara Mae Allen. He is survived by his wife, Marianne (Thomas) Jackson, whom he married on June 19, 1976, his children and their spouses, Diandra W. Jackson of Canton and Darvaina J. Jackson of Canton, Damon (Cassandra) Thomas of Massillon, Dwane (Isabel) Thomas of Madrid, Spain and Davena (Shawn) Milich of Baltimore, MD, 9 grandchildren, his sister Darlene (Daniel) Torrence of Massillon and his brother Timothy (Darma) Jackson of Massillon and his half brother, Robert Earl Hastings of Massillon. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 A.M. at New Horizons Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend Raymond Mason officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.
