Edward Knapp

Edward F. Knapp, 74 of Massillon, died on Sunday September 20, 2009 at Affinity Medical Center. He was born on April 27, 1935 in Akron, Ohio and was the son of the late Edward H. and Sadie Ellen (Sandridge) Knapp. He was an area resident for most of his life. He was a licensed optician and worked at Co-Op Optical in Akron and B & F Optical in Wooster and Canton. He was a member of the Massillon Baptist Temple, the American Motorcycle Association and the Opticians Association of Ohio. He was a former Boy Scout leader. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons, Mark E. Knapp and Douglas A. Knapp. He is survived by his wife, Joyce R. (Schilling) Knapp whom he married on March 7, 1955, his daughter and son in law, Ellen G. & David Crawford of Akron, his son John B. Knapp of Massillon, his daughter in law, Deborah L. Knapp of Massillon, his grandchildren, Sarah M. Knapp of Massillon, Anthony E. Crawford of Akron and April D. Gale of Massillon, his sister, Sharen (Rich) Bennett, his step mother Norma Knobloch and his special niece, Deena Mullane all of Massillon. Also surviving are several other nieces and nephews A memorial service will take place on Thursday at 2:00 P.M. at the Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home. Cremation has taken place.
