Edward Joseph Eggenschwiler, 76, lifelong Massillon resident passed away Tuesday December 30, at Affinity Medical Center. He was born in Massillon September 25, 1932 the son of the late Joseph Eggenschwiler and Virginia (Malzahn) Wolfer. Edward was employed at Hall of Fame Auto Parts retiring in 1996. He was a 1950 graduate of Washington High School where was a four year member of the Massillon Tiger Swing Band and has always been an avid Massillon Tiger football fan. He was an eight year Air Force veteran serving 18 months in Korea. He was a member of the Massillon Moose Lodge # 481, and enjoyed golfing and bowling. He is survived by his wife of 50 years Barbara (Auer). Also surviving are children Diane (Craig) Stallman of Jackson Twp., and Daniel (Barbara) Eggenschwiler of Lexington, KY; grandchildren Kimberly and Lisa Crilow, and Brandon Eggenschwiler; brother Jack (Lana) Eggenschwiler; several nieces and a nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Carol Edwards. Calling hours will be Saturday from 3-5 P.M. at Paquelet Funeral Home 1100 Wales Rd. NE where funeral services will follow at 5:00 P.M. Rev. Russ Rodojev will officiate. A private burial will be held at a later date.
