Edward H. Quirk, age 81 of North Canton, formerly of Youngstown and Warren, Ohio, died Wednesday afternoon at his home in North Canton. He was born on July 11, 1924 in Youngstown and was the son of the late William & Mary Jane (Hershell) Quirk. He was a Stark County resident the past 17 years. Upon graduation from Youngstown South High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. He graduated from Youngstown State University in 1949 with a degree in mechanical engineering. He retired from Packard Electric in Warren, Ohio. His memberships included, the Masonic Lodge in Youngstown, the Scottish Rite, The Al Koran Shrine Club and he was a member of the Professional Engineers. He served as a director with the Trumbull Co. Soap Box Derby. He is survived by his wife, Shirley M. (Klemm) Quirk whom he married on August 7, 1948, his daughters and son in law, Susan & Michael Konerth of Massillon & Pamela Quirk of Canfield, OH, and his grandchildren Matthew (Leslie) Konerth of Warren, OH and Megan Konerth of Massillon. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother William Quirk. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday at 12:00 Noon with Rev. Leslie Peine officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday one hour before the service.
