Edward G. Brittain, age 88 of Canton, went home to the Lord on Thursday, October 28, 2010. He was born on June 12, 1922 in Pittsburgh, PA, the son of the late George and Mary (Wible) Brittain. Edward was a graduate of Canton South High School. He was a U. S. veteran, serving in the Air Force during WWII as a fighter pilot. He retired from United Engineering Foundry Co. in 1984 after 38 years. Edward loved serving the Lord and taught Sunday school for many years at his church, First Church of the Nazarene. He loved his family and had a great love for animals. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his former wife, Alice Brittain. He is survived by his wife, Patricia (Zumstein) Brittain who he married on January 21, 2006; his children Ralph (Sue) Brittain of Medina and Mary (Rick) Bird of Canton; his cousin Lynn (Ken) Smith of Pittsburgh; his friends Pam (Rich) McElroy of Canton and his cat, Tweetie Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 30, 2010 at 11:00 AM at First Church of the Nazarene in Canton. Burial will follow at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 10-11 AM.
