Edna Ruth Criswell

Edna Ruth Criswell, age 90 of Massillon, died Friday, June 29, 2007 at the House of Loretto in Canton. She was born in Massillon on November 5, 1916 and was the daughter of the late Perry and Maude (Elson) Holderbaum. She was a lifelong area resident. She spent many years of her working life as an active member of the former Massillon City Hospital nursing staff. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald P. Criswell in 2004. She is survived by her daughter, Joan Gerber (Bill) of Canton, her son Jack Criswell (Diane) of Massillon, 6 grandchildren: Jill Buchannan (Bob), Mike Criswell (Trina), Chris Gerber (Jennifer), Pat Gerber (Jodi), Tom Gerber and Jennifer Laign, 11 great grandchildren: Noah, Heather, Cassidy, Jacob, Ashley, Matt, Anna, Lexi, John, Abby and Adam. Edna will be fondly remembered in the hearts and minds of those she touched as a woman of commitment, love and faith. Her devotion to God and her family will remain as a solid example for others to follow. The family rests in the knowledge that she is at peace in the presence of God.
