Edna I. Spencer

Edna I. Spencer, age 85 of Massillon passed away Wednesday June 18, 2014 at the Rose Lane Health Care Center. Edna was born September 6, 1928 in Booneville, MS to the late Dee & Florence (Rowland) Miller. She and her late husband, Homer, moved to Massillon in 1950. Edna retired from the Massillon State Hospital after 28 years of service. She enjoyed gardening and browsing at discount stores and yard sales. Most of all, she was completely devoted to her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two granddaughters Latia and Trinity Spencer, brothers Tommy, Willie, Archie, and Thurman Miller and sister Berth Mae Williams. Edna is survived by six children: Robert Spencer, Jerry (Lydia) Spencer, Willie Spencer, Ricky Spencer, Ronnie (Karen) Spencer and Linnett (Blake) Massey. There are two sisters: Juline Nunn and Ethel Williams, 19 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren , and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A Homegoing Service for Edna Spencer will be 1 PM Thursday at Shiloh Baptist Church. Pastor Lee A. Miller, Booneville, MS, will officiate. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery.
