Edgar J. "Skip" Freeze passed away peacefully on November 13, 2021 at Hospice House in Tavares, Florida. Skip was born in 1936 and was the son of Edgar and Mildred (McClain) Freeze. He was a graduate of Lincoln High School in Canton and went to work at Timken shortly after graduation. Over his nearly 40-year career at Timken, he progressively elevated through the ranks of the industrial engineering organization, where his final job before retirement in1992 was as supervisor in the department. Skip was active in the community, serving as a volunteer fireman in Perry Heights, ultimately became the fire chief. He was also involved in local politics, running in the 1960s for Perry Township Trustee. Skip retired to Florida where he pursued his love of fishing and a new found passion for clay shooting. He ultimately became a Super Vet Champion in the sport and then became an instructor. He was preceded in death by his daughter Michelle Freeze-Yoder and his brother William "Bill" Freeze. He is survived by sons Michael (Suzi) Freeze and James L. Freeze and daughter Jill (Rob) Hart. He also had numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. A graveside service will be held on Friday, December 3rd, 2021 at North Canton Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Paquelet funeral home on Thursday December 2, 2021, from 6:00 – 7:30pm.
