Edelgard D. Sperry, 78 of Jackson Township, passed away Monday, July 11, 2016 following a lengthy illness. She was born on August 10, 1937 in Gelsenkirchen – Erle, Germany the daughter of August and Augusta (Jekubik) Rast. Edda worked for the Perry Rubber Co., Davis Piano and Organ, Kaye and Silver Brokerage, Croxton Realty and G.E. Consumer Finance. She and her husband Glenn owned 2100 Sperry/ Davis Realty Co. and were co-owners of The Coffee Cup Restaurant. She was an active member of Scarlett Legends Red Hat Society. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her son, Richard Davis, Jr. Edda is survived by her loving husband, Glenn Sperry, with whom on July 4th she shared 35 years of marriage; her son, Randy Davis; step-daughter, Dawn Marie (Dustin) Barnes; grandchildren, Drew and Drake Barnes; sister, Gerda (Heinz) Celik; nieces and nephews, Linda Celik, Heinz Celik, Forest, Valerie, and Eric Olmstead; and sister-in-law Evelyn Olmstead. A Celebration of Edelgard's life will be held on Thursday, July 14, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. and on Thursday from 10-11 a.m. before the service. Her final resting place will be at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.
