Earl E. Everett Jr. passed away on January 02, 2020 after a long convalescence at Rose Lane Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Massillon, Ohio. He passed peacefully two days before his 97th birthday. Earl was born in Brewster, Ohio on, January 04, 1924 to the late Earl and Pearl (Price) Everett and graduated from Massillon Washington High School with the class of 1942. After high school, he attended the Engineering program at Indiana Technical College where he enlisted in the Army Air Corps with his fellow Engineering students. In June of 1945, he married his high school sweetheart, Marjorie Mae Everett. Their only child, Paula, was born in February, 1947. Earl and Marjorie shared 58 years until her passing in 2003. Earl began his career as a Layout Draftsman, joining the Hoover Company in 1959. He retired 28 years later as the Engineering Shops Manager. He was also an accomplished musician and played alto saxophone with several jazz/big band orchestras in the area including Paul Ringley’s Band, The Judd Warstler Band, and the Freddy Arthur Orchestra. Earl was devoted to his family and friends. He loved sharp cars, great music and a good laugh. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Massillon. Earl is survived by his son-in-law, Dennis Morgan, his grandchildren Amy (Michael) Morgan Tomas and Matthew (Russ Goodwin) Morgan. In addition to his parents and Marjorie, he was preceded in death by sisters Goldie Block and Florence Dibell, and his beloved daughter, Paula J. Morgan. A brief service will be held at 1:45pm. Pastor Mark Kreemer will be officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 1pm – 1:45 at Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. Burial will take place at Brookfield Cemetery. Donations in Earl’s memory can be made to Community Hospice 716 Commercial Avenue SW, New Philadelphia, OH 44663. The family would like to thank the wonderful team at Community Hospice and the staff of Rose Lane Healthcare Center for the compassionate care they gave Earl. Continuing with COVID-19 precautions, all attending will be asked to follow proper social distancing protocol and masks are required.
