Dr. W. Jay Dolvin, 90 of Massillon, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 22, 2016. He was born on March 25, 1926 in New Cumberland, Ohio and was the son of the late William G. and Florence D. (Sparks) Dolvin. In 1967, Dr. Dolvin began his association with the Massillon Baptist Temple. He has served as the Associate Pastor and taught at Massillon Baptist College for over 40 years. He also did missionary work in Boy River, Minnesota. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his foster son, Brian Stewart, his grandson, Trevor Hutton, three sisters and two brothers. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Grace A. (McAfee) Dolvin, his son Daniel (Jody) Dolvin, his daughter, Marilyn (Robert) Hutton, 5 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and his brother Carl Willis (Voneta) Dolvin. Funeral services will take place on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the Massillon Baptist Temple with Dr. Larry Emery and Pastor Cecil Thayer officiating. Burial will follow at New Cumberland Cemetery in New Cumberland, Ohio The family will receive friends on Friday from 5-7 p.m. at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home and on Saturday from 10-11 a.m. at the church.
