Dr. Phineas Mudanya Nyabera, 70, of Massillon, passed away unexpectedly on November 19, 2023 at Mercy Cleveland Clinic.
He was born on November 16, 1953 to late Jamin Nyabera and the late Ezina Mudoto Nyabera of Kenya.
He received his Bachelors degree from Kent State University and his Masters from Malone University. He also received his Phd in Economics. Phineas was a professor at Kent State and Malone Universities. He was also an author with four books, The Rise and Fall of Man, Discrimination Against Women's Wages, The Trial of the Egyptian Pharaoh, and Classics of Socialism and Communism. He was active member of the Malone Alumni group. Phineas enjoyed spending time with family and reading.
Phineas is survived by his loving children, Oneida Benjamin, Scott (Lisa) Arndt, Chris (Jill Shipbaugh) Arndt, Sr., Nick Arndt, Michael Arndt, Chad (Meranda) Arndt, Sr. and Mildred Kageha Nyabera; twelve grandchildren; twenty two great-grandchildren; siblings, Ephurata Musimbi, Arthur Kibisu, Eliud Angaruki, Abigael Kangereha Seth Kajala, Philemon Kagas and Florah Kaveza; and a special friends, Dr. Smith and Dr. GeoffreySanga
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Darlene Nyabera; daughter, Angie Thomas, and siblings, Grace Nyabera, Elisham Kalika, and Ebainto Luvisia.
A graveside service will be held on November 30, 2023 at 1030am at Oakwood Cemetery.
