Dr. Herbert Pfeiffer

Dr. Herbert Pfeiffer, 87, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his loving family, on January 22, 2017. He was born on June 10, 1929 in Bremen, Germany to the late Friedrich and Katharina Pfeiffer. Dr. Pfeiffer graduated from the University of Wurzburg and practiced as a Board Certified Anatomical and Clinical Pathologist at Massillon Community Hospital, from where he retired in 1984. He was a faithful member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church and numerous medical associations. He had a love for cooking, gardening, and travel, yet his greatest devotion was to his family. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth (Benchea) Pfeiffer, whom he married on June 18, 1963; their children, Roxana Rish of Jackson Twp., Thomas (Theresa ) Pfeiffer of Westerville, Christina (Jeff) Ross of Powell, Monica (Tim) Rozmajzl of Jackson Twp., Eric (Lisa) Pfeiffer of Kalamazoo, MI, and Michael (Johanna) Pfeiffer of Columbus; seventeen grandchildren, Zachary, Ashley and Lauren Pfeiffer, Joseph and Samantha Ross, Emily, Anthony, David, Matthew, John, Luke, Lizzie and Leo Rozmajzl, Nathaniel and Nicholas Pfeiffer, Jacob and Olivia Pfeiffer, many nieces and nephews, and sisters-in-law. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church. Burial was in North Lawn Cemetery.
