Douglas C. Dashner

Douglas C. Dashner, 59, of Massillon, Ohio went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 29, 2015. At the time of his death, he was doing one of the things that he loved, playing golf with his friends. He was born on February 7, 1956 in Oil City, PA and was the son of Judy (Roddy) Dashner and the late Glen Dashner. Doug was a veteran of the U.S. Navy where he served as a corpsman at the Naval Regional Medical Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. He was employed by Nickle's Bakery for the last 9 years. He was an avid golfer, outdoorsman and enjoyed working with his hands. Doug never met a stranger and was loved by everyone who knew him. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Diane E. (Lafferty) Dashner, his son Dustin C. Dashner, his grandchildren, Alexandra, Madison and Anthony Dashner, his mother Judy Dashner and his brother Jeff Dashner. Also surviving are his many other family members, many friends and his beloved dog Ginger. A service to celebrate Doug's life will take place on Saturday January 2, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home with Pastor Michael McCartney officiating. Cremation will follow. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 5-7 p.m. and on Saturday from 3-4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to The Wounded Warrior Project at www.woundedwarriorproject.org
