Dorothy 'Zeke' Jean Maier

Dorothy 'Zeke' Jean Maier, age 78 of Massillon passed away Thursday May 24, 2012, surrounded by her family at Altercare of Navarre. She was born February 23, 1934 in Massillon to the late George & Goldie (Porter) Matthews. Dorothy was a 1952 graduate of Washington High School and had been employed by Republic Steel. She was an avid card player and enjoyed spending time with her many friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers: Jack Merryman, George, Edward and Bill Matthews. Dorothy is survived by her husband of 51 years, David K. Maier of Navarre; three children, Valerie Kuzmik, Allison Andlinger and Daniel Maier, and their children, Chelcie Andlinger, Lyndsay Maier and Zane Maier. Two sisters are surviving, Virginia (late David) Geisinger and Janet (Bob) Elavsky. Services will be 1 PM Tuesday May 29, 2012 at the Paquelet Funeral Home, Fr. Thomas Cebula will officiate. Burial will follow at Brookfield Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday from Noon until the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Mercy Hospice, 7568 Whipple Ave., North Canton, OH 44720.
