Dorothy Margaret Smith Kuhlins, 91, became one of God's Guardian Angels to watch over her sister, brother, sister-in-law, many nieces, nephews, and cousins whom she loved dearly, on November 1, 2013. Dorothy was born in Massillon on October 28, 1922, to the late Daniel and Edna (Kemp) Smith. She graduated from Washington High School in 1940 and often recalled that Coach Paul Brown was one of her favorite teachers. After high school Dorothy took the job of advertising manager for the former Stark Dry Goods. From there she went on to become head teller at the Towne Plaza Branch of the Central Trust Bank, from which she retired in 1987. At both places of employment she made many lasting friendships. In 1947 Dorothy married the love of her life, the late Ernest H. Kuhlins with whom she shared 39 wonderful years until Ernie's death in 1986. Until the last Dorothy enjoyed monthly get-togethers with her "Hags and Bags Friendship Club" of which she was the oldest member. Dorothy believed very strongly in the power of prayer, and she had a long list of names of people for whom she prayed nightly. Along with her parents, and her husband she was preceded in death by her brother and his wife, La Vern D. and Jeanne Smith; two brothers-in-law, Patrick J. Davis and Walter Kuhlins; Sister-in-law, Dorothy "Dottie Ann" Smith; and nephew, Shane Smith. Dorothy will be deeply missed by her sister, Merrie Lou Davis, brother, William O. Smith; sister-in-law, Margaret Kuhlins of Dalton, special nieces and nephews: Coleen (Steve) Swartz, Michael (Brenda) Davis, Peggy Davis, Tracy Smith, Renee (Ron) Bankert, Dan (Sue) Kuhlins, Bill (Carol) Kuhlins all of this area, Marjie Danzig and Sheryl (Richard) Fox of Florida; Brian Smith of NC; and cousins, Leo and Ann Rindt of Pittsburgh, PA and Ron and Karen Dalrymple of Canton.
