Dorothy Mae Gibbs

Dorothy Mae Gibbs, 80, passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2016, following an extended illness. She was born in East Liverpool on August 21, 1935 to the late William and Phyllis (Herrington) Emmerling. Dorothy's love of children led her to become the Director of Donna Yants Nursery and Day Care, retiring in 2010. She will be remembered for her love, compassion and selfless nature. She was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church, where she was active in the church choir. She is survived by her two children, Pamela S. Fischer of Jackson Twp. and Charles F. (Dianne) Gibbs, Jr. of North Lawrence; ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and daughter-in-law, Jean Gibbs. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles F. Gibbs, Sr.; son, David A. Gibbs; and a brother, William F. Emmerling, Jr. Friends may call at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home, Massillon on Sunday, June 19, 2016 from 3:00pm-6:00pm. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Monday, June 20, 2016 at 10:30am, Pastor Carolyn Nichols and Pastor Lee Peters, officiating. Burial will be in Newman Creek Cemetery.
