Dorothy Mae Beck

Dorothy Mae Beck, 81, passed away on September 1, 2021 with her loving daughters by her side. She was born in Altoona, PA on August 24, 1940 to the late Edgar and Mildred (Filer) Shoenfelt. Dorothy worked and retired from RW Screw and prior to that she worked for many years at the Massillon YMCA. She was also a member of Central Presbyterian Church in Massillon. She was a very proud and dedicated Tiger fan and celebrated being a 40 year season ticket holder with her husband. Her greatest moments were spent with her family. Dorothy was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be deeply missed by her daughters Debra (Ric) Parks and Barbara Getz; her grandchildren who were the light of her life, Michael Taylor, Jerud (Lindsay)Getz, Dylan Getz, Morgan (Joe) Higley and Leah (Adam) Cleaver; great-grandchildren who she adored, Beau, Avery, Drew and Gavin; and her siblings Chuck (Diann) Shoenfelt, Pauline (Harry) Killinger and Donna (Harry) Shank. In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 62 years, Ray Beck who passed away earlier this year and her siblings John, Edna, Bill and Joe. The family would like to give special thanks to Aultman Hospice for their care and compassion during their time with Dorothy. Calling hours will be held at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon on Wednesday, September 8th from 5-8 p.m. A funeral service will take place on Thursday at the funeral home at 11 a.m. with Dr. Mark Jacobs and Evangelist Glen Shank officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Aultman Hospice, 2600 Sixth St. S.W. in Canton, OH 44710.
