Dorothy M. Meilinger

Dorothy M. Meilinger, age 88 of Massillon passed away November 12th. Dorothy was born December 6, 1926 in Canton to the late Ivan & Elva (Little) Dettinger. She was a cook at St. Joseph School for years. Then she worked for Schraders IGA. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank (1997), a great grandson Eric Guilliams (2013) and a brother Robert Dettinger (2014). Dorothy is survived by four children: Greg (DeDe) Meilinger, Lou Ann Cherry, Carol (Woody Case) Meilinger and Mark Meilinger. Grandchildren: Justin (Amber) Meilinger, Bryan Meilinger, Jeff Cherry and Leslie (Gabby) Cherry. There are six great grandchildren. She has a sister Mary Safreed. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 AM Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Massillon. Her pastor Fr. Raymond Paul will officiate. Burial will be at Sunset Hills Memory Garden. Friends may call Sunday from 2-4 PM at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Aultman Compassionate Care.
