Dorothy Mae "Dottie" (Bremkamp) Edwards, 89 of Massillon, passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2014. She was born in Massillon on April 2, 1925 and was the daughter of the late Albert and Bertha (Hofer) Bremkamp. Dottie was a graduate of Washington High School and then went on to work as a secretary in the Massillon School system She was an active member of Grace United Church of Christ and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star since 1956, she had served on the Woman's Board at the former Massillon Community Hospital and volunteered there for many years. She was also a member of the Telephone Pioneers. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Russell H. Edwards, her son, Bruce M. Edwards and her sisters, Bette Morningstar and Jean Cocklin. She survived by her grandsons, Scott (Casey) Edwards and Alex Edwards, her great granddaughter Adeline and her daughter-in-law, Janie Edwards. A service to commemorate the life of Dottie Edwards will take place on Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. at Grace United Church of Christ. Burial will follow at Sunset Hills Burial Park. The family will receive friends at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2-4 P.M. and on Wednesday at the church one hour before the service.
