Dorothy L. Welty

Dorothy L. Welty, age 91 of Jackson Township, passed away Friday, January 18, 2013. Dot was born on September 4, 1921 in Mole Hill, WV the daughter of the late Samuel & Lulu Ethel (Griffin) Riggs. Dot enjoyed bowling and playing cards. She was greatly loved by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and became known to them as GG. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband George F. Welty in 1991 whom she married on January 10, 1942 and her sons, George R. Welty and Terry C. Welty. She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia (Terry) Baltzer; her daughter-in-law Susan R. Welty; her grandchildren, Julie (Todd) Yerian, Jennifer (Timothy) O'Brien, and Michael (Laurie) Welty; her great-grandchildren, Max, Taylor and T.J. Yerian, Madalyn and George O'Brien, Kendall and Jack Welty and Noah Baltzer; her sister, Freda M. Mumford; and sister-in-law, H. Ruth Ott. Cremation has taken place.
