Dorothy L. Smith, age 83 of Massillon, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 23, 2012 at her home surrounded by her family. Dorothy was born on April 17, 1928 in Gallipolis, Ohio and was the daughter of the late William M. and Opal M. (Cunningham) Watterson. She had been employed as a Licensed Practical Nurse at the former Massillon State Hospital Geriatric Center for 18 years. Dorothy loved her family and being a loyal servant of the Lord. She was a member of the Canton Temple of Praise Church and was active with their Senior Adult Ministry. She also enjoyed cooking, gardening and helping people. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Joan Peters and Shirley McCann and her brother William Watterson. She is survived by her husband, Frank Smith, Sr., her son Frank, Jr. (Karen) Smith, her daughter, Sandra (Ben) Miller, her grandchildren, Ty (Amie) Miller, Ryan (Marie) Smith and Stephanie Smith and her great grandchildren, Wyatt and Scarlett Smith and Chloe Miller. Also surviving are her sisters, Florence Jenkins and Aileen Monk and her brothers, Paul Watterson and Robert Watterson. A service to celebrate Dorothy's life will take place on Monday at 11:00 A.M. at the Canton Temple of Praise, 2800 Woodlawn Avenue NW, Canton, OH 44708. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 5-8 P.M. at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home, 1100 Wales Road NE in Massillon and on Monday from 10-11 A.M. at Canton Temple of Praise.
