Dorothy J. Bashoor

Dorothy J. Bashoor, age 79 of Massillon, died Monday, September 3, 2007 at Aultman Hospital. She was born on October 13, 1927 in Monkton, Maryland and was the daughter of the late Milton & Nora (Witte) Price. On May 23, 1947 in Ashland, KY, Dorothy married John W. Bashoor. They were married for 53 years until his death on February 18, 2001. They enjoyed fishing together at cabins they owned in Cedarville, MI and at Piedmont Lake in Piedmont, Ohio. Dorothy was a self taught artist and displayed her works at craft shows for over 25 years. She enjoyed her grandchildren, country music and working in her flower garden. Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Truman Price, 2 sisters, Carol Jeanette Crombie and Marjorie Price, her granddaughter, Nicole Monnette and her stepmother Laura Price. She is survived by her children, Wendy L. (Les) Monnette of Southington, Ohio, Jack (Sue) Bashoor and Terry (Pat) Bashoor both of Massillon, 3 grandchildren, Heather Monnette and fiancé Dan Williams of Southington, Ohio, Kurt (Meredith) Bashoor of Navarre and Sarah (Shaun) Baskerville of Louisville, Ohio, 4 great grandchildren, Nathaniel Monnette, Nicole Williams, Kaitlyn Baskerville and Samantha Baskerville and 2 stepbrothers, Jack (Cheryl) Price of Union Bridge, MD and Ron (Delores) Price of Westminster, MD. The family will receive friends at the Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home on Thursday from 6-9 P.M. Cremation will follow and her cremated remains will be interred at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorials be made in her name to the American Diabetes Foundation and/or the North Lawrence Volunteer Fire Department. The family would like to give special thanks to people who gave her such good care at Shady Lawn Nursing Home in Dalton.
