Dorothy I. Green, age 87 of Massillon, died Monday evening at Affinity Medical Center-Massillon Campus. She was born in Massillon on April 6 1919 and was the daughter of the late Emil Ernest & Ida (Norling) Migge. She was a Massillon resident for most of her life, but lived in Arizona for 17 years. She was a 1937 graduate of Washington High School and received her teaching degree at Kent State University. Before raising her family, Dorothy taught at Longfellow Elementary School. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, was a past president of the Massillon Rotary Ann’s and was a member of the Massillon Women’s Club. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Green in 1987, her sister Esther Stahleker and her grandson Michael Green. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Richard & Niki Green of Massillon, Roger & Evelyn Green of Vallejo, CA, Judy & John Fichter of Massillon, Dale & Joy Green of Wooster, Dennis & Karen Green of Massillon, Victor & Sherry Green of Rockwall, TX and Janet Logan of Massillon. Also surviving are 18 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday at 10:00 A.M. at the Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home with Vicar Brian Weinberger officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday one hour before the service.
