Dorothy I. Fuchs, age 88 of Massillon, died Sunday evening at Rose Lane Health Care Center. She was born in Massillon on November 24, 1918 and was the daughter of the late Rulif E. & Grace P. (Henry) Truax. Along with her husband, Frederick Fuchs, she owned and operated the Pioneer Motel in Woodsfield, Ohio. She retired in 1973. She honored the memory of her son, Richard, who was killed while serving during the Viet Nam Conflict with her involvement with the creation of the Viet Nam Wall. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick W. Fuchs, Jr., her son; Richard E. Fuchs, her sisters; Anna Anderson, Florence Sistock, Irene Reese and Gertrude Lancer and her brother; Howard Truax. She is survived by her daughter and son in law Janet L. (Fuchs) & James Lab and her son and daughter in law James W. & Carolyn Fuchs both of Massillon, 7 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday at 11:00 A.M. at the Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home with Pastor Chuck Fedorka officiating. Burial will follow in Brookfield Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 6-8 P.M. and on Friday one hour before the service.
