Dorothy G. Goodnough, 99, passed away on December 27, 2021, following a brief illness. Born in Chicago, IL, February 3, 1922 to the late Robert H. and Gladys (Ayers) Gardner, she graduated from DePauw University with a BA in Art and Home Economics. Dorothy worked as a bank teller and as a teaching assistant at The Ohio State University and then dedicated herself to her family. She was a member of Grace Bible Church, The Massillon Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, The Massillon Museum, Massillon City Hospital Auxiliary and other area organizations. In addition to her family, her interests included history and art, painting, gardening, reading, genealogy, and patriotic endeavors. She is survived by her children, Arthur (Linda) Goodnough, Wesley Goodenough and Frances (Thomas) McHolm; eight grandchildren; and nineteen great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Frank O. Goodnough, MD and a sister, Marjorie Schweitzer. Family and friends may gather at the Paquelet Funeral Home on February 5, 2022 from 11am-12 pm with a Celebration of Dorothy’s Life at 12 pm.
