Dorothy C. Smith

Dorothy C. Smith, age 81 of Massillon, died on Saturday, October 02, 2010 at Affinity Medical Center. She was born on March 11, 1929 in Massillon and was the daughter of the late Sylvarius and Anna Pearl (Reynolds) Warth. Dorothy was a lifelong area resident. She graduated from Washington High School in 1947, she married Herbert J. Smith who preceded her in death in 1987. They raised two children who survive, David H. Smith of Massillon and Susanne (Richard) Ainscough of Massillon. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Anne (Mac) Banas, Andrea Smith, James Ainscough, Christopher Ainscough and Emily Smith. Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother Robert Warth. Dorothy was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the K. of C. Council 554 Auxilary. A Memorial Mass will take place on Wednesday 10:00 A.M. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Fr. Bob Miller officiating. The family will receive friends at the back of the church one hour before the Mass. Dorothy’s cremated remains will be interred next to her husband at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
